Welcome to The Bootlegger Trail Races!
We're proud and excited to announce that we are a Western States Qualifying Race for 2027 and also proud sponsors for the 26, 27, and 28 WSER! We have an entry to the 2028 Western States Endurance Run that we are going to give out after the finish of the Bootlegger 100. Anyone who finishes the 2027 Bootlegger 100 will be in the raffle for the entry into the 2028 Western States. We will hold the raffle at the conclusion of the 2027 race and you must have completed the race and be present to win! To be in the raffle you must register by October 1st 2026.
Course info:
The Bootlegger Trail Races is a 12.5 mile loop with about 1050 feet of elevation per loop. The course starts with about a half mile of road and then hits the 3.5 mile connector trail from Indian Springs that leads you into Dauset Trails. Dauset was designed mainly for mountain bikers so there are not any huge climbs throughout the course. The longest climb is about at mile 9-10 of the course with a slow gradual climb but the grade isn’t bad. The 12.5 mile loop ends with 2 miles of gravel and paved road leading back to the start/finish area.
This course is great for 1st time 100 mile runners because of the numerous aid stations and the ability to have your own tent, aid, food, and crew each loop. The downside to this course is how fast it is and it may trick runners into thinking they can run the whole way and they crash and burn after mile 40. Typically, it does get a little warm in March during the day and combined with the run-ability of the course it may mess up someone’s race. The best advice for 1st time 100 mile runners is to take advantage of any small hills for walking and drink a lot during the day.
Aid Stations/ Crew Access:
There are two aid stations on the course; mile 6.2 and 12.5 (start and finish). Crew can set up at the start and finish but NOT allowed at the 2nd aid station. We’ll have plenty of fluids and food at both locations to aid runners to accomplish their goal for the day.
Cutoff schedule:
The cutoff for the 100 mile race is 5pm on Sunday-35 hours. The 100 mile cutoff to start the last loop is 12:00pm (5 hours to complete the last loop). Race ends at 5pm Sunday.
Pacer info:
Pacers can jump in at Start/finish aid station on the loop to start pacing after 5pm. There is only one pacer allowed at a time per runner. We will have pacer bibs for everyone who wants to pace and in January will have a pacer registration link. Pacers are welcome to all food and drinks at the aid station.
